What is the difference between a two year RN and four year RN?

Can you tell me the pros and cons for both .Does a four year RN have more opportunity's then a two year RN?

You get more in depth education on nursing theory, nursing research, professional issues, skills for management / administration, models of care, advanced pathophysiology, and more general education courses. In most doctors office hospitals your basic nurse job the payscale wont be mush different but if you ever wanted to further your career than a 4 year is much better. You can become a nurse practitioner or a specialized nurse with a 4 year you can do much more then just a reg nurse.. If you take summer classes and more... More

At the basic level, they do the same job at about the same pay. You're right, there is more opportunity available for the four year RN, especially in terms of advancing into leadership positions.
