your stationed at a base and a retired bird colonel comes through the gate, next to the gate is a static?

display of an airplane. the retired colonel thinks the airplane looks dirty and complains to the guard and tells the guard it needs to be cleaned. the guard tells him he can't do nothing about it the guard gives him directions to personnel next thing you know, there is a detail of GIs out there washing the static display. coincidence? or does a retired colonel have that kind of power to get done what he wants on a base ejohnny99- blah blah blah blah, i really don't care how it happens in the navy, this was an air force base and the reason he was given directions to personnel was because he asked for them and another thing you are not aware of was that the base commanders office was located at the base personnel building at that time, it still might be as far as i know and when i said the next thing you know it did not happen instantaneously as you so put it but there was a detail there within two hours. yes we have had retired officers come through the gate and if they see something they don't like they have complained to the civilian guards, thats how ate up they were and i am sure there are many out there that still are. this officer wasn't even retired from that base but apparetly he knew someone there. and another thing, i coud care less about your military friends or your social life or you for that matter. you sound like as ate up retired officer.

The colonel would not have gone to "personnel" he would have gone to either "operations or administration." Personnel could not have done anything. However, if he went to (or called) administration he... More

Eh i dont think its so much that he was a retired colonel but he probley talked to someone he knows higher rank. Officers like to impress higher ranking officers so they take the shit assignments and pass them down to their airmen. Im sure the officer enjoyed a good pat on the back from the old bird.

Doubt it was coincidence. A retired Colonel probably knows some Generals at the base.

He apparently does have that kind of power if he was able to get the display cleaned. It's all in who you know and this colonel apparently knows the right people.
