What Can Obama Hope to Achieve in the Last Three Years of His Presidency?

Let's assume that by January 2010 the Healthcare Mess is out of the way. It ended in a patients Bill of Rights (voluntary), in other words it ended in nothing. Cap and Trade, same thing, got tabled, never coming off the table, gone like a Hobo in the snowtime.

OK, without bashing Obama, and while staying 100?ositive, and walking on the Sunny Side of the Street, please tell me what you would like to see Obama do in the period from January 2010, till January 2013.

This is a serious question. He's there in the Oval. He is the President for three more years. Your President, whether you voted for him or not.

Here are some possible answers to consider:

1. Get all troops out of Irag

2. Get almost all troops out of Afghanistan

3. Spend the remainder of the Stimulus BIll money (about 80?eft) very wisely.

4. Kick the i****************s out of USA, and keep more from pouring in.

5. Upgrade NSA, NRO, and Space Command so the USA can put fire and steel on the targets worldwide in future conflict without reliance on unreliable human intelligence sources.

6. Get those toxic mortgages off the Federal Reserve Balance sheet by finding a market for them.

7. Upgrade the nation's high speed rail lines like he promised to do

8. Upgrade the power distribution infrastructure -- the grid -- so it becomes smarter and more reliable.

9. Drill for more domestic oil and cut off reliance on moslem foreign suppliers.

10. Protect American jobs by not rewarding firms for sending them overseas.

11. Reduce drug use in US cities by strong and violent interdiction in the air and on the high seas until the price becomes prohibitive for most users. Just shoot down drug runners.

12. Set up Federal prizes for breakthrough discoveries that would set the USA on a brighter future economically -- like a great car battery, like a great solar panel, like a great fuel cell.

These are just ideas -- it's your ideas I want.

And no Obama bashing please. Forget blame. Forget ACORN. Forget Socialism. Forget incompetence.

He's President for three more years. Don't tell me what he should not do. Tell me what you would like to see him do. What do you want?

He's got to pick himself up, and dust himself off, and get back on the horse of state. We have got to help him. Sitting in the bleachers shouting catcalls doesn't say anything about him, but it speaks volumes about us. We are his team. Our job is to make him succeed if that is at all possible.

OK Coach, call the play.

All the ideas you laid out are good, but will be the undoing of Obama, they are high lighted and hot. And will always be prone to heated disagreement, which make government look bad to the voter, except for number 12 which is cool.

Assuming President Obama can survive the onslaught of constant negative press from the Right, the remaining three years should be aimed at reelection. The only possibility of achieving this would be to regain a majority of public support.

No small feat, but gaining credibility would be critical to a second term, and based on today’s voter sentiment; he might survive with or without his party base, remember the independent is a loose cannon not defined.

1 Following through on the promise to ferret out waste would speak volumes to his position. If indeed he could eliminate billions lost in Medicare fraud (and other government funded programs), and redirect gained financial support to Social Security (not a fix but a start), I think he would capture the imagination and possibly the support of the 50+ age group.

2 If the president were to discretely slip under the watchful eye of the left (I think he could), and implement some tested measures that made Americans respond positively, it would leave a rewarding legacy. By blending JFK policy of “Ask not what your country can do for you“ along with some Reagan like gestures that reflect a belief in individual freedom, it’s possible there could be an Obama revolution not unlike the “Reagan Revolution”. Eliminating programs that don’t work and starting programs that not only benefit the American public but stand out in the world. Like Hoover with his Dam, President Obama could start the work of making America energy dependent (Pickens plan for example). No doubt about it; a robust energy program would serve to change opinion in the Middle East. The quicker the president worked the quicker change would happen. If the United States began to even look as if she were on the verge of energy self sufficiency, Russia, China, Iran, and Venezuela would have to rethink and retool their current understanding of the West.

3 My last idea is probably the most unpopular: Mr. President: Let’s quit feeding the hand that bites us! We can continue to show our support for United Nations issues, but since we cow tow to their dictates, let do our charity for nations that are corrupt, murders and thieves, completely through the window of the UN. We will save face in the world and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than using our equipment, fuel, personnel, parts, planes and everything else involved to personally deliver the goods to those who don’t trust us, use it wisely or steal it anyway. This should apply to every country except our closest allies and our neighbors to the North and South.

President Obama could be our savior, but at this point; he pretty much looks like other politicians (sorry had to say it) :)

I think that Obama and his crew has got to stop pulling the race card. 40 years ago, I could see where the race card needed to be pulled. But now, no. The problems plaguing the administration have nothing, yes, NOTHING to do with race. It is his policies.

I loved Condolezza Rice and Colin Powell. Heck, I would have voted to put Colin Powell into office. He is a great man. And, Condolezza is a very smart and talented woman. If I were truly a racist, I would not think this way. AND, these two are smarter than I am.

I was alive to live through the Carter administration. Let me tell you...the economy hit bottom, we had 20?nterest rates on loans, and Americans were held hostage in Iran. It took a Republican, Ronald Reagan, to help the economy to recover, for the interest rates to go down, and to get the hostages released. And, the funniest part of this...Ronald Reagan was originally a Democrat. He jumped parties when his own people did not elect him as a candidate.

I'd like the military Draft to be initiated. That way everyone's kids will have to go. THAT, I hope, will stop the wars and absurd military spending.

I am very interested in United States politics+government. I'm going to be going into high school next year so I realize I can't do much as far as a job or internship, but what about classes or anything else that could prepare me?

I'm looking for a paid summer internship in law, politics or government. I realize it's highly unlikely I find any job that will pay a college student, especially with the state of the economy right now. Any suggestions?

Why do people accept the term politics in everyday language. There's no definition to what it is. It confuses everybody. It's a silly excuse to leave people in the dirt.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

Our commitment to training and development encourages our people to grow their futures with us. If successful in joining our team, how will you become an expert at what you do? and At Debenhams, our people make all the difference to our customers. If you were a Stock Movement Adviser with us, how would our customers know that you are focused on their individual shopping experience? I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.
