How to get a job anywhere with no job experience?

I'm out of HS & have never had a job. Parents wouldn't let me they wanted me to focus on my studies. Now I need a job to pay for a college degree & to help my parents out. I've already applied on 2 retail stores but have had no luck. Are new retail store openings a good way of getting a job? I really don't care where or the wages. Thanks
