What paid charity related job can I get which is involved with working with people in poverty?

I really want to have a job working with the poor because I want to make a difference in some way, but instead of being a fundraiser I want to go out there and just help people (but without being a volunteer because I'll need to make a living) ... Any ideas??? Thanks :)

Look for a list of UN Agencies or a comprehensive list of NGOs. the other alternative would be to look for a regular job and volunteer in your local Christian church.
