Canadian moving to the U.S permanently...?

So how do I go about making sure I'm a legal in the US to work? I know that having a job already promised to you is one way, but I'm not totally sure an Automotive Service Writer would rank high enough on the list. I'm planning on moving to the US next year, so I've trying to get my "ducks all in a row" and a majority of any paperwork that I will need filed. How do I apply to US citizenship or even a Green Card if I don't seem to fit the catigories set out with the USCIS?

this is really difficult to answer - your best bet is to contact an immigration lawyer in the US who can help you work through the process. This is really not something to attempt on your own as any misstep can tie you up in legalities for a loooong time.

Don't assume that just because somebody offered you a job that you qualify to immigrate or to get a work visa, much less citizenship. If you don't seem to fit the categories given by USCIS, there's a good chance that you don't. Consult an immigration attorney.
