What difference does it make what job you have?

If you had the choice between somewhere along the lines of a computer programmer and a UPS truck driver. Both pay good but the truck job is easier in access, more stable in this economy, and requires less thinking. Would you go into the computer field because it IS harder, meaning the culture and evironment is well disciplined and something to be desired compared to the truck job? You would still take the harder path even if it meant less pay and a high chance of lay off?

The job of a UPS driver (not including the OTR driver) is anything but easy, especially in the Christmas season, where they work long into the evenings, and not necessarily that stable; they have laid off people in all depts. Given the choice and knowledge, I would go with 'puters
