What are some important technologies to know in order to be a successful web developer?

ASP could be useful but many websites still use a LAMP configuration (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl) while ASP requires Windows servers. You should probably look into Ruby on Rails and maybe Python with one of it's web frameworks (Django and Turbogears are the two big ones).

Personally I am of the belief, that it is better to be brilliant at 1 or 2 technologies, than to have a bit of knowledge in 10 of them. I would say just concentrate on php, mysql, and a javascript framework like jquery or mootools.
