I am interested in a career in motorsports. What college/major should i be looking in to?

I am a sophomore in high school and am wondering what would be the best college for me if I am looking for a job in motorsports, preferably NASCAR. When I say this I mean jobs such as engine builder or fabricator etc. I believe that the correct degree would be mechanical engineering but i am not sure. Thanks :) thanks for the answers guys really helps me even this early :)
