My best friend is a loan officer and has a degree in communications and marketing. Basically, she works at a credit union and just applied for the job. The other loan officers at her credit union started as tellers and worked their way up. It's not that complicated and she makes a good living.

go to a real estate office, there are on every other block. ask them who do they recommend for a loan, that way you will know who is actually doing business. then talk to that loan officer and ask them if you could work for them.
