How do i get my dog to do search and rescue or agility?

I want to get my dog interested in a dog sport like search and rescue or Agility and are wondering if their is any techniques or ways to teach my dog how to jump over a wall or find a ball.

Ifi you're not an experienced trainer, you need to enroll in classes. It's much more fun for you and the dog and the dog needs to learn to work in a setting with lots of distractions. Teach the dog lots of obedience so you have control over it in a public place. You'll also need to get your dog used to other animals, cows, pigs, sheep, cats etc as well as crowds, and able to completely ignore them. The dog should have a very good recall as well... More

First, check out any local agility or tracking clubs in your area. You will be able to watch some of their events and learn if you really would be interested in these sports. Sometimes, you need to see it in person to be sure. These clubs will also be able to refer you to good trainers...you will definitely need... More
