I would recommend a treatment before hand then if you do not want product weighing down you're hair and making it less "lustful".
If you can get you hands on "CARROT OIL CREAM" (Or Olive Oil Cream) then you are very much in luck of getting your hair onto a great treatment. I use the Carrot oil on damp hair and spread it evenly. Put your hair in a bun for 2,3 hours. You can then rinse it out and condition. When you condition hon, use hot water as the hot water opens up hair follicles. The conditioner will deeply get to its job. Then, Rinse it off with cold water! OUCH I know but, this will close hair follicles.
The reason I am saying all of this is because if you want to achieve SHINY without a lot of product, I do not know any miracle miricle , only that your hair has to be at least somewhat healthy. A sit in cream product, doesn't have to be Carrot oil can surely help. I would go for Organic hair products. And they are not all expensive. You can get good creams for 4 bucks.
Next, after the treatment and conditioning, do your hair as normal but before you do it you might want to condition it again prior. After you blow dry, it will probably be frizzy but that's a good thing because let your hair settle. The next day it will have time to regained some Natural hair oils and calmed down from the heat. Sleep with it not tied, and in the morning just straighten the parts that might have got wavey. This is extreme, but I try sleeping with it layed out on the bed (Not the pillow because oils from the hair can rubb off on the pillow, and this is bad if your skin is acne prone)
Another conditioning method I heard is real mayo. Yup, from the jar at room temperature. I haven't tried it yet, but I heard a lot of positive recommendations that this leaves your hair very shiny. I did not recommend it first because I do not know how hard it would be to blow our your hair after you do a mayo treatment.
Remember, cold water after you come out the shower. OUCH but yeah.
Of course, after you blow-dry you can add subtle lightweight Serum. The clear products usually to tame frizz and enhance shine.
Look for Shampoos and conditioners that also improve shine lusty and are for straight hair.
