I have been in about 10 MOVIES and any number of TV programs AS AM EXTRA and I have been lucky to even get a cold hot dog and a warm coke.. let alone $300. Even when I was in the first two Pirates of the CAribbean movies, what little I made barely covered my expenses to sail my boat up to the Bahamas from Antigua... More

If they ask you to pay them any money, as a fee or for you to have photographs of yourself taken, it's a scam.

My guess is no. I have been in the business for several years. The fact that the numbers are 800 numbers--red flag number 1. And the idea of an extra being paid up to $300/day!? If this is a legit casting-call...at least know that the pay is not at all realistic.

It might be. Most of the extra work is in Los Angeles, but every once in a while they look for them in other cities. Go ahead and call for more information.
