Ball Joints and End Links?

My boyfriend has a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 4x4 Quad Cab with 75,000miles. He has to replace both sides lower and upper ball joints. The service center also said End Links? What are these Tie Rod Ends or Sway bar ends? He is gonna get a second opinion tomorrow just to be safe. Also he can find MOOG lower ball joints but can only find upper joints with the control arm included. Is there anywhere that has just the upper joint or can it not be pressed out? We checked all the local auto stores to no avail. And is there any online DIY's for this, we can only find them for diesels and 2wd coil sprung dodges.Thanks. Thanks a lot Dodge Man also on this website there are two different options for the end links on the page http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/products.asp?cat=12840 ...which one is the right one. Also why would he need to replace these just because the ball joints are worn...

The uppers if I recall are in aluminum arms, pressing them out will damage the arms, so they will have to be replaced as assemblies. The "end links" will be for the sway bar. Not sure of online instructions, but the end links are pretty simple, and the balljoints normally will have instructions in the package. The upper... More

Sway bar ends are called drag links(small rods). Tie Rod ends are like small ball type joints. Have it re-checked, use Dodge parts. Don't press them, it can weaken or damage. Parts and machine shops can do this type of work. Let me know the help you need, ok.
