How many people feel like they are a legal "slave"?

I work all day, five days a week. I get paid and the money doesn't go in MY pocket. It doesn't feel like MY payday. It feels like it the electric company's pay day. The cable company's payday. The one choice I feel like I have control over is my food, but ever since I decided to take certain ingredients out of my diet(high fructose corn syrup, enriched flour, hydrogenated oil), I see how much food that is healthy for you actually costs. So there goes the one thing I can control because I can't even afford to eat healthy. EVERYTHING has those ingredients in it. If it doesn't, then it costs MUCH more than the stuff that is poisoning us. I take the bus to save money on gas. Now they are making it so you can register your bus pass in case you lose it. So if big brother is really in effect, then "they" know where I am from the moment I scan my bus pass. Then I clock in at work, so "they" know where I am now. I get back on the bus and "They" know where I am again. Then I go to Safeway on the way home and "they" know what I bought. Then I go home and turn the lights on so the electric company knows my residence is in use. At all times my movements are known by someone's tracking capabilities. I just saw a commercial where a woman couldn't find her son. It was a battery commercial. The lady pulled what looked like a tracking device out of her purse. My question was, did the lady put a chip in her kid? Or was he wearing something that tracked him? It is only a matter of time before it "makes sense" to everyone that we should all be chipped like our pets. I feel like an indentured servant. Instead of feudal times, we are in the future. Instead of us paying taxes to kings, we pay them to politicians. What is the difference between then and now? We are just as complacent as people were back then. Will it take another Marie Antoinette to piss people off enough for action? Anyone else feel like I do? How many of you feel like you have no power to change what is going on in our society? I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am only pointing out what I see happening. Warrior - Not everyone has hardly a penny left over. The word slave is only used as a figure of speech. I am well aware that this is not a new issue. I am only looking for someone who can relate to me. If you don't then you shouldn't have answered the question. TS - You have a great sense of humor. I appreciate your input. X RAY - Hmmm, I agree with the fact that as a woman, legal prostitution would be very lucrative. I'm not sure if I see your point of view for the rest. Thank for making me chuckle. JUST PASSING THROUGH It's crazy that while I feel discouraged, I KNOW that I have it so much better than billions of people of this earth. I am well aware that I have had the benefits of an education, running water, sexual freedom. I have it leaps and bounds better than many. Doesn't that make this all more tragic? I agree that the wake up call has arrived. I am excited for it and fearful at the same time.

you are in the exact same boat as any other race working. how can you turn this into a slavery issue. All jobs pay you to be their "slave" and hold tight reigns to get their money. Everyone pays the bills as soon as they get "paid" and hardly a penny is left. You sound as if you have conspiracy theories eating at your... More

I have to chuckle (with you, not against you). To move through life involves leaving a lot of money spilt in the wake.
