How do you get free food if you are hungry and have no money?

Me and my husband have fallen on hard times, I have looked for a job but they are few a far between. All our saving have been used and our room mate even pawned his car to help get groceries in the house. So how in the world do people get food when they have a bad month?

These are very hard times that we all are facing,look in your yellow pages under Human Services,you can find out where the office is and pick up an application to get a food card,they will process quite fast for you and they also will give you some groceries until your food card arrives in the mail,hope this is of some... a lot of places have an info line. it is 211 for the united way. they have food clothing, etc to help in difficult situations... just like dialing 911 for emergency or 411 for directory assistance. just dial 411.. also there are social service organizations, churches, food pantries. there is a lot of help out there and... There are many resources out there that you can look into. You can look in the Dept. of Welfare for food stamps.
