How can I make myself less depressed about my job?

I'm the "computer" person. My main tasks are A/R related. Sometimes I get depressed because I don't know the technical part about the company's products. Even though I work hard, I feel unimportant sometimes because I don't know the parts, and machinery that we sell

Take courses in it, part time, online, or at night. See if others at work will help teach you, once they see you are trying to overcome your deficiency in the requisite knowledge... More

I don't mean to be cynical but jobs are very hard for some to come by right now. Any job would be so welcome to a lot of people. Also you have a job where you don't have to get dirty or work with toxic materials, you are out of the weather. Sounds like a good job.

well joan learn more about your company and their products. show more interest, ask more questions and make that extra effort. trust me, if you don't there are about a zillion job seekers out there that would then, you'll have even more to be depressed about
