If you are sharp enough to consider engineering; I would tell you to get a degree in Physics with a concentration in Mathematics. You will have many more options available to you to you.

Engineering is a very wide field and the possibilities are endless. I know that a lot of non-engineering companies hire engineers because they realize that if you can get a degree in engineering they can train you to meet their needs. Personally I enjoy Civil Engineering.

Electrical and Electronics engineering gives a very broad opportunity to chose jobs from Electrical, Electronics or computer fields. But not all the universities provide this course.

Wrong question. The answer is to do what you are interested in and love, then success will flow from that. Never make a decision based on money.

True, first and foremost, it is important to find what interest us the most, then the money becomes a bonus, however if ones niche is engineering with no slant one way or another, maybe with the "green" movement in its infancy, civil engineering would be a good bet.
