How many coaches will Notre Dame go through before they CAN the Athletic Director?

Looks like to me that there is something wrong with hiring process which is headed by the athletic director. I'm just saying, "There is no reason for a heralded program like Notre Dame to have this much problem finding good coaches and recruiting players. I agree that its tougher but not impossible at Notre Dame.

The problem isn't the A.D. hays, it's the dang process. The big secret is that AD's don't pool a huge list of potential coaches, or keep one handy, and select the 5-15 they want to interview. All that stuff is done by private entities, who also just happen to have relationships with the same coaches they put up for... More

Charlie Weis ate the athletic director. He shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Good coaches do not grow on trees. Coaches are like recruits, you don't really know what you have until the game is played. Not every coach has a good recognition of talent.
