Im rebuilding my computer and I have a few questions?

Ok so Ive got about a $400 limit and what Im aiming to replace is the motherboard, processor, video card, ram, and hopefully a new monitor. Im wanting to play the latest games on it so for the video card I was thinking a PNY GeForce 9800 GT EE 1Gig. For ram I was thinking Patriot 4096MB DDR2 800MHz. For the processor Im not really sure, most likely something intel, thats sort of where you guys come in...How could of a processor do I really need to play the latest games? Also how good of a mother board do I need? I only need room for 4 gigs of ram and a PCI express slot. I really dont want to spend alot of money on the processor and mother board that way I can have around $120 left to get a new monitor. So what would you guys suggest?

The cost is around $185 for that one i have, but not much difference in price from 2.6ghz and 3ghz. As of the Intel vs AMD, AMD's are great for the money, since the 3.3Ghz intel is $999... More
