What is being a Para-rescue Jumper like in the Air Force?

I'm going active in the Air Force. This looks like the most interesting job the Air Force has to offer. I was wondering if anyone had experience in this field and could tell me a bit about it. Things like training, what missions are like(no need for intricate details) and how long you have been doing it.

We don't go by Pararescue Jumper. Pararescueman/men or PJ are the correct terms. PJ is simply the nickname and is leftover from the days of yore when PJ was on the flight manifests. The "jumper" part was killed off years ago, and the nickname PJ is what survived... More

Pararescue has the highest washout rate of any job in the Air Force. Their training is just as rigorous (if not more so) than Navy SEALs- and their job is just as dangerous.
