How do I get a web development job?

Maybe this seems like a stupid question at first, but let me first explain my situation before you judge my ignorance... I'm already in the working world and 2+ years out of college. I'm studying web development/programming and was wondering not only how do I go about securing experience, but now did you get work experience after your studies? Should I try to find a firm that will allow me an internship so I can go in and learn more about the industry from a working standpoint, or forgo that path and just try to secure a junior web development position and learn from that point? I am 100% self taught and have received no additional professional training, if that makes a difference, but my skills are solid (D/X/HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL, .NET). Any person stories you would like to share? Any good insight? I would appreciate everything and anything!
