I want to move to America and get a job as a teacher. Help?

Right, I am considering a massive change in my life. Once I have finish my University degree - i'm studying Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, I am thinking I might travel to America to become a teacher (the alternative is to stay in the UK to teach). My main questions would be how to go about doing this, and also what qualifications would I need to become a teacher in America? I'm hoping to teach High School Level... Thanks in advance!
