Would you take a live in nanny job without pay but free room and board?
I am a college student considering a live in nanny job for 2 kids where I take them to school and pick them up, cook breakfast lunch and dinner, help with homework, and care for when mom is at work. The job doesn't pay but offers free room etc.

No i would not, looking after children is very hard work, unless i was homeless i wouldn't consider it. Think about it, you'll need pocket money atleast, or else how will you buy clothes or basic things like shampoo?

No I would not. You're caring for someone else's children just so you can have somewhere to live? I dont think so. Have you considered that you may be condoned to their rules?

You'd totally be getting ripped off. Most live-in nannies I know get free room and board AND they get paid for actually working. Don't take the job.

sounds risky to me. i wouldn't do it. make sure that if you do take the job that there are clear guidelines about weekends, time off etc. i dunno, kids are really hard work and studying will require a lot of effort also. you could be taken advantage of, be careful..

Live in nannying is actually really really hard work! It should attract a lot higher income than it actually does but since most people who take up the job do not yet have qualifications parents can pay very little. To not be paid at all would probably not be worth the work!!

no I would not because then I have to find another job just to pay for my expenses which defeats the purpose of a live in nanny.

I would say no. Taking care of kids is a HUGE job, and they should at least pay you something in addition to giving you a room. You need money to survive and buy clothing and stuff you need. You can't be filling up your life raising someone else's kids and not being paid for it. It's just not a good idea for you. Sure... More

Will you have enough time to study? I think it depends on your money situation.
