What part of society have prosthetics affected?

The theme for National History Day this year is Innovation in History: Impact and Change. I am focusing on the invention of prosthetic limbs as my innovation, and I know that they have had a large impact on society by allowing people to live longer, better lives. What part of society would you say prosthetics have affected the most(ex: banking, education, sports, government)? Thank you! I see what you're saying, however, what are specific examples of how the use of prosthetics have affected society?

you are missing the point, amputees are part of our society, and THEY benefit and are affected most by the creation of prostheses. Our entire society and economy has benefitted from having these people functional again.
