There are many other variables that a person would need in order to make a recommendation on a company. If anyone gives you a direct answer to this, chances are it is not 100?ccurate or informed.

Every company is different at certain things. Here are some of the other things a person would need in order to make a recommendation. It is highly suggested that you take this information to a licensed insurance broker who can then shop the market to find a policy that matches your exact need.

What is the exact age? 30+ could mean a lot...sometimes companies base their pricing on certain age bands like 25-35, then 35-50...depends where you fit.

what Gender? Prices are different for males and females and some companies are competitive in one, but not the other.

What amount? Some companies are very competive at $100,000, but not at $250,000 or some other number, or vice versa.

What type? Term? If term, how long of a term? Whole Life? Universal Life?

w***************e? Some places have different companies than others.

Also, don't shop online. They will only give you the best prices and cheaper is not always better...Sometimes it's like buying a car...A Kia is cheaper than a Lexus, and that definately doesn't mean that it's better. Then, once you buy the care they slap on all the add ons like charging you for car mats, mud flaps, undercoating, etc. (ratings applied to the premiums due to build, health, lifestyle, or you find you what the renewal rates are when the term expires).

A broker can take your information and shop around to find the best priced product that suits you need.

PS: Suze Orman is an aweful source to base a factless answer like Z has. She is a glorified news anchor that has been proven wrong MANY times and her errors have been caught on tape many times. Perhaps my sources should be a laundry list of clips on youtube where Suze Orman is caught telling completely wrong and ignorant answers? Buy Term and Invest the Rest isn't a terrible strategy...it looks good on paper, but in reality it doesn't have a successful track record in every case. I would be interested in Z's reasons for his statement or if he/she simply only does his research by clicking the remote and channel surfing. You'll learn a lot more by going to professionals rather than pre-scripted TV actors (That "caller" in that clip looks like she's reading off a cue card...and not doing a very good job of reading at that....)

You should start doing a bit of research on life insurance, there's tons of info on the net, starting with Yahoo Personal Finance.

You should ALSO define exactly what it is you want the insurance to do for you - and for how long.

THEN, you're ready to call some local agents, and get some quotes.

Actually any large company won't necessarily be fine. i have a tools and information on my site that you have complete access to without divulging any of your personal information. It'll allow you to get the prices from 150 different carriers so you can see the prices prior to contacting a broker to help you through the process. Brokers are free and not just any old company will do....do you just buy any old tv, or any old computer, or do you compare?

My husband and I are looking to move to North Carolina and we don't have a specific city. We want to start looking for Property and Casualty insurance jobs that are in NC but we don't know what companies there are. We don't want to work for agent offices but hopefully for a larger company. Could someone please provide us with a list of companies?
