Did the lack of a trapezoid in the Olympics give Brodeur a little job security?
Brodeur is supposed to get the start against the Americans Sunday. Do you think the lack of the trapezoid and Brodeur's puck handling skills we a significant factor in Babcock's decision. Against a hard fore-checking team like the Americans who will employ the "Dump and Chase", could Brodeur's puck handling have been the deciding factor? Maybe we need Cdn citizenship for Halak. The kid has impressed. Good call on the Slovaks. There is some talent on that team I too wonder if we are not living in the past with Brodeur. last night could be called a off night but he has had a lot of off nights since getting the shutout record. He is not sharp right now. Nat Sinclair. The 4 guys he shut down in the shootout were not of the caliber of shooter he will be facing against the Americans and later in the medal round. He was beat in the shootout but the guy lost the puck. Babcock should sit with Pronger and Neidermayer to remind them that giveaways are not a good thing. I think Neidermayer, Pronger and Brodeur may be getting a long in the tooth for the Olympics Bob, if we are talking Keenan short they better dress MAF too for the third.

However - I would have thought it would have more to do with Brodeur shutting down 4 straight shooters in the shootout with the entire Nation watching. The two goals he let in were not... More
