Good fiction books for a teenager that was recently published?

For my english class, I need to read a fiction book that was published in 2008, 2009, or 2010. All suggestions are GREATLY appreciated, because I really cannot find any!

Terry Pratchett's "Nation" or "Unseen Academicals" are good, as is "Doomwyte" by Brian Jacques. There's also "The Immortals" by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell or G.P. Taylor's "Mariah Mundi and the Ghost Diamonds". You could also just go for a Dr Who novel, there are quite a few of them and they're *mostly* good.

If it's for your English class, you probably want to read something good, not something.. fluffy. I love fluff but English is a different matter :) Here are some books that are both great and are fit for the classroom... More
