What are the odds of making alot of money in construction?

I want to make alot of money, and construction interests me. I'd like to become a contractor, but I'm thinking that it musn't pay that much. Should I stick to college and then university? Or do I try to become a contractor?

In order to make a lot of money contracting, you basically need to be the boss/owner or an upper manager. The contracting company itself, whether you start it or work for it, must be well-established with a good history and clientele list before they are reliable enough to support the kind of paycheck you sound... Don't be a contractor, they really don't make much at all. Try going into architecture or architectural engineering, that's where the money is at.

Good high level contractors make a lot of money. Ham n' Eggers go broke. It depends how good of a business person you are.
