GBP denounces the Mayweather Camp Accusations of Pacquiao and calls it "idiotic", what are your thoughts?

This is a statement by GBP highly rank representative Richard Schaefer:

"We have never accused Pacquiao of anything nor will we. We don't control what Floyd Sr. says, so we have nothing to do with that. We are going to continue to maintain - innocent until proven guilty. I believe in that. We're not accusing anybody of anything. Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter, a great athlete, a pound for pound king and innocent until proven guilty. I never have and never will accuse Pacquiao. People should just move off that and move on," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

"I think the comments are wrong that he's [Mayweather Sr.] making. He should move on too. I don't control what other people say. I don't control what Arum says, or what Mayweather says. I only control what I say, and I say innocent until proven guilty. The comments that Mayweather Sr. is making are idiotic. There is only one word - idiotic."

Based on his actions, Mayweather Sr. is not intimidated by the pending lawsuit. Both Arum and Schaefer are in agreement - Mayweather Sr. [or anyone else] should face the music for these kind of comments.

"Everyone is held accountable for the comments they make. I think comments like that are wrong. If someone was making comments like that about a fighter who was under contract with Golden Boy, I would be p****d off too. We have a promotional piece of Manny Pacquiao and I think Manny is a great fighter. People should just move on."

"It's not a steroid. It's something from the Philippines. Something they used in the army. When you hit the guy with a .45 or a .38 and they keep coming after they got shot. Whatever it is, it has to be something strong for you to keep coming forward after you got shot." - Mayweather Sr.

The statement above by Mayweather Sr. shows that ignorance has no bounds. If his claims were true, then the Philippines won't have any insurgency problems because their soldiers will be invincible. If it was true, all their boxers will be winning their matches and their athletes winning gold medals in the olympics. Sadly, the reverse is true.

This statement is the seed of the doubt that was casted over the head of Pacquiao by the Mayweather family. Floyd Jr. did an even better demolition job and the added insinuations by Floyd added fuel to the fire.

It's incredible that someone who has been nothing but a positive contribution to the sport will now have a cloud of doubt in his head whenever he fights because of insinuations started by people whose motives are suspect. It's worth to note that the reason of the Mayweather family's insinuations would stem from Manny's accomplishment of starting his boxing career at 106 lbs and his ability to climb all the way up to 146, while at the same time, maintain his power. Somebody needs to remind the Mayweathers that Floyd started at the same 106 lbs during his amateurs and fought as high as 154 (against de la hoya). He not only eclipsed Manny's weight accomplishment but also maintained his undefeated record! If there is doubt to cast, then it should not be only Manny but also Floyd himself, Sugar Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran, and Thomas Hearns - all of whom made significant weight gains in their careers and still were able to proved to the world that they beat the best and create their own unique legacy.

Floyd should be careful with his insinuations because history may judge him not only on his boxing skills but because jealousy reared its ugly head at some point of his career. Either that, or he was looking for a reason to avoid Manny.

This is the right thing to do for GBP to distance themselves from the accusations and they will probably use this statement in court to defend themselves since Richard Schaefer is included in the defamation suit.

Though I think "Mayweather Camp" is misleading. When has Floyd Mayweather Sr. ever been part of the Mayweather camp? He isn't in the corner and isn't involved in Mayweather Promotions.

There is "Freedom of Speech" a completely American concept, and then there is "Slander" a concept that is familiar to us all. Schaefer is doing what any sane boxing promoter would do, positioning himself and his company to do business with one of the biggest draws in the boxing game. Whether Mayweather Sr. is an idiot or not doesn't have a lot to do with whether Manny juices. The fact is if Manny was clean, the blood tests wouldn't be an issue. Mayweather Sr. is a father, and he doesn't want to see his son injured, that has to play a role in the man's idiocy. I can understand why the "law suit" isn't a deterrent to Floyd Sr., it's not about the $ or the boxing match for him, it's about his son's safety, so odds are good the court room won't make much difference to Sr.

The reality is that Roach did work with James Toney while James was juicing, and old habits die hard. A lot of people don't remember Michael Moorer made his bones at 175, then jumped 40 lbs and was suddenly a heavyweight, and even though it was never a public issue, it's pretty clear to boxing insiders that cheeseburgers weren't the only reason Mike gained the extra weight. Roach hired, then fired Mike for a reason. The words of Richard Schaefer position GoldenBoy to better tap into the Pacquiao cash cow, but do little if anything to lessen the allegations by Mayweather Sr. Floyd Sr. was never one to care what people called him, and PED's have always been a part of the boxing business. The Legal business in another aspect all together, and Sr. may be out of his league, but eventually "truth" really does "set you free", and like it or not there appears on the surface to be some legitimate cause for concern pertaining to Manny and the whole PED allegation.

Nobody, not ever Mayweather gives up the kind of money that fell through with the demise of the Mayweather/Pacquiao match, and clearly there is a reason why Manny chose to refuse the blood testing. The rest is simply a sad, tragic loss to boxing.

I think Schaefer's comments are idiotic.

Specifically what did anyone from team Mayweather say that was incorrect?

Schaefer gives no specifics.

When a fighter runs from EASY drug tests and leaves 30+ million on the table, that is specific.

That action hurt Manny 100 times more than anything that was said about him.

The LAWSUIT is a joke. It is not worth 2 cents. The worst that was said was that Manny is a drug suspect. Even Pac fans know that Manny is a suspect.

They are trying to avoid a lawsuit and absolutely nothing more. If Pacquiao hadn't sued Mayweather GBP would have kept on backing him up silently and not caring. Only now post lawsuit do they say something and that is telling.

Personally I think that the whole steriod fiasco is complete and utter bullshit, I've stayed out of the conversation because I didn't want to add fuel to the fire and it has given me a long time to think about it and my conclusion is that this really was Mayweather's way out of the fight. I mean, the hypocrisy of Mayweather refusing to fight someone based on his whims and suspicions of PED's only to go fight someone who was a known user and someone he accused multiple times of using PED's in incredible to me. As far as GBP goes they may not have outright said that Pacquiao is using but from everything I've heard and read they have heavly implied it. It's not anyone's place but the commision's place to say whether such rigorous testing is needed, they create and apply the criteria on what you have to do to be cleared to fight and if someone doesn't like then the commision should say tough luck, go somewhere else or miss out (which is basically what happened to Mayweather who needed this fight more than Manny). This isn't shocking to me at all, this is exactly the kind of thing a corporate business would do when it's actions could become "expensive".

For instance, can a average boxer make a good living off the sport if hes not fighting the champs and just move along fighting other average boxers? Wouldnt he eventually fall off the boxing map and stop getting paid if he wasnt fighting anyone ranked? Or can someone not really spectacular just do pro boxing as a regular job and still make ends meet. Somewhat like a blue collar boxer or something. Does the money only come from sponsors and winning fights?

I recently enrolled in a boxing club/gym. I am a student there and train there, and I was wondering how I can input that into my resume. Since boxing requires a lot of discipline and skill, I figured it would augment perceptions of me in my resume. My question though is, where do I include it? Do I include it in the "Education" section? Or Skills? Or do I make an entire separate "category" in which to include it in? Help!

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am currently a 1st year irregular college student taking I.T. I transferred schools and my majors never got credited. But it's okay because i am slowly getting the logics in programming in Java. This next semester i am taking a System Analysis and Design(SADSIGN) and i am getting nervous because even though i am pretty good at logics, i am not that good at coding. But since it is a case study, we will be on group, we will be four i think. Project manager, Analyst, Documentation, and the programmer. I am asking what jobs i can get after graduating I.T. because what if i graduated I.T. and still not that good at coding, i am hoping that there will be a jobs that will require less programming. Like Database manager or in Multimedia or in charge of Network. So is there jobs that doesn't require hardcore programming skills?
