What Do You Think of Overseas Call Centers? Do You Ask them to Send Their Jobs Back to the US?

Thousands of call center jobs have gone to India. Chances are that if you call a large corporation, you will be talking with somebody who is sitting in India. Should we boycott those companies to bring those jobs back here?

Yes, I think they should be boycotted, however Also feel that the US government is falling down on it's job by not prohibiting the exportation of jobs abroad. But of course the governments and the business owners are in cahoots with each other

i love them It means that I, as a typical Dem, don't have to work. Why work when 0bama's govt can pay you for doing nothing and someone else can answer the phones.

Well, it's not the Indians' fault, but yes, bring ALL the jobs back, or boycott the company. Let the CEO and their board members go live in India if they want to help Indians stay employed. Our business people are such greedy scum that they'd sell their grandma for a buck.

I'm not good with heavy accents. I don't ask them anything, I hang up. It's annoying and makes the business look super cheap.

Yes, I call them and ask them to send their jobs back to the US, because we need them more than they do, and most importantly, they're the ones who have the authority to do that.

I keep hanging up on them since being from a southern state I am unable to understand them. Then when I finally get one that speaks English... Companies do this as a strategic move to keep costs lower than the competition. In reality, the majority of customers of those major companies never call the call center and have to deal with the awful service you are sure to get. That means to the companies loosing the few customers that do have to call is an... More

You can ask to speak to someone in the US and they have to let you. They may resist but will transfer you to someone in the US.
