How do you climb up the ladder to become a CFO?

What jobs do I need to get to and move on to? I will worry about the qualifications and education part, so just give a straightforward answer. Also, what is a better contribution, a job in accounting, or finance analysis? I have not gone to college yet, and I am definitely not going to try to get a job like this without proper education. My plan is to got to MIT.
