Proof insurance companies out of control.see:DB?

O.K. so my job requires confidentiality.so keeping within acceptible limits check this out. We have a patient,whom I would whole-heartedly concur is as I would say "in the No U-turn lane and heading towards the off ramp" But the patient's case manager said the insurance company called and advised life support withdrawl ! Yeah,the patient is too far gone. BUT ! The insurance company desk jockey/bean counters are saying pull the plug ? WOW ! who empowered them so much !

This is horrible. Why don't insurance companies just change their name from insurance (which is supposed to be a comfort) to "LET US GOUGE YOU WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOOKING," or maybe 'LET US KICK YOU WHEN YOU ARE MOST DOWN.' I'm just horrified by this... More

Insurance companies do NOT make medical recommendations - they only tell you what they're willing to pay for. What, you only want life support, if someone ELSE is paying for it? How out of control is THAT!!

Tell me, if the patient is so far gone that he is only being kept alive by being on life support, then what is the point of simply delaying the inevitable?? You yourself admit the patient is on borrowed time .
