Do i need a resume when applying for my first job?
This summer i will be turning 16 in june, and im going to get a summer job. I want to work at hot topic, or forever 21. Do i need a resume when i turn in the job application, even though it's my first job? And if so, what is a resume, like what exactly do i need?

for a retail job like that - I wouldn't think you'd need a resume. Usually they will have you fill in an application. However, if you want to be prepared it can't hurt you to know the basics... More

Having a resume helps you stand out from the other applicants. A resume is a document summarizing your skills and experience relevant to the field of work you are entereing. A resume should include your objective(I am interested in becoming a cook at McDonalds for example), Work Experience, Skills, and strengths.
