Help i need info on my confusing situation?
I am 18, a hs graduate. 3.8 gpa in high school. Good asvab scores, i have the NUKES test on monday. My recruiter and i have been discussing my eligibility and he is trying his very hardest to get me into the navy and he thoroughly believes he can in fact get me in. I am mentally and physically qualified otherwise but i have a small, well maybe a not so small blip on my record. about 7 months ago i was given a ticket, a misdemeanor, in possession of MJ. It was experimental and i was an idiot and didn't think the smell would get me caught. I went to court and the judge dismissed my case completely. I know that's an idiotic mistake, but i was hoping somebody here would know if i have a chance to get in. I would appreciate advise, but please do not add bitter pointless remarks like "your an idiot" or derogatory comments, i do a pretty good job reminding myself of that anyway. Thank you nelson iv thats exactly what i meant by derogatory shi*. you should never ever be able to post on here. I do not qualify as a pothead if it was a one time thing, but you qualify as an a**hol*

If the judge dismissed it then it shouldn't be a problem. Go ahead and discuss it with your recruiter and be blatantly honest. They are there to help you

You have already gotten past the hardest part, being honest. Ya, you were an idiot, me too. But as long as you tell the truth, don't lie, or cover-up, this can be a small blip on a good career. My only advise is, do not ever-ever-ever lie or attempt to cover up something on your record. Good Luck and fair seas.

Yes u were an idiot once, but don't be one again: make sure ur recruiter knows about the incident and that u report it at meps... That will come up on your security clearance. It shouldn't be much of an issue though: the military is strict but realistic: who hasn't done weed?
