Even today I hear liberals talking about lowering health care costs. Did they not see the news last night?

"WASHINGTON – It was a bold response to skyrocketing health insurance premiums. President Barack Obama would give federal authorities the power to block unreasonable rate hikes. Yet when Democrats unveiled the final, incarnation of their health care bill this week, the proposal was nowhere to be found." So now the government is forcing people to buy health insurance from big corporations who can charge whatever they want. This seems like the opposite if what liberals are advertising. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_care_obama_s_promises

The ideologies of Marxism/ socialism/ communism have infected our American culture. Because Americans who lived in eras where these ugly ideologies wreaked havoc on the world were critical of them, proponents began to call themselves something more appealing- "progressives". In socialism, a central government controls... More

Most states already block insurers from unnecessary rate hikes. If they don't, they need to. They have the power to do it. Also, that provision was most likely taken out of the bill because of a Corporatist Republican or the Senator from Aetna (Joe Lieberman)

The libs on here aren't paying attention to facts about costs and deficits. Obama wants a feather in his cap at any cost. His sheep just want a win because they think this is just a sport.

Those pesky facts just get in the way of the message. Like "if you like your insurance you can keep what you have". The CBO estimates that up to 18 million will lose their current insurance.

To bad the connies would not support the bill when it was better. It is still an improvement over the current system and the side car will fix a lot of problems in the bill. Isn't the filibuster wonderful. We could have the public option, a widely popular feature, except for 46 votes in the senate.

No, I didn't see the news last night. I did see the big error in your logic though. Obama wants the authority to block big rate increases. That's diametrically opposed to the "charge whatever they want" phrase in your rant.

you can blame the con's for that little deletion.Obama is so set on getting the health care bill passed that he's having to give up the parts that the con's want left-in.It's all about money. The doctors, insurance and drug companies will slice it up until you won't be able to recognize it as a health bill that might... Your mistake is taking a news story at carte blanche. Why do you think this is the "final" word on health care and health care financing? There are a number of additional proposals being launched almost immediately on both sides of the aisle.

ya think? A complete and total disaster? Not doing what it is supposed to do? Magically destroying the greatest health care system in the world and slamming us into total govt dependence? Maybe the vast majority of Americans had a solid read on this all along. Shame about them not being real and all.
