How to make my medical school application look impressive?

Currently I'm only a freshman, but I want to get into medical school with everything I have, but I know how extremely competative it is. I know that GPA and MCAT scores are important, but what are other things that would look good? What kind of jobs would look good? What kind of volunteering would look good? Which clubs/organizations would be impressive, and would it be good if I was an officer of them? What should I do during my summers to prepare? Any advice on what I can do now to help me in the future? I'm looking to go into orthopedic surgery
