who makes the better receiver Denon or Yamaha?

not only am I looking for crisp clear sound from my music I also want quality when I use it for movie watching. That is why I am looking not at the top of the line models but right below it. If there are suggestions above these two, feel free to voice your opinion. So far, I am a yamaha RX-v3900 fan but all the stores seem to be pushing Denon. which model of Denon is comparable to the RX-V3900?
