Christians can you solve this riddle?

My mother says she hates God because God never has never given her anything good in her life. She always had to borrow money from the bank and from her relatives in order to survive because she has a small income. She never had a good husband. She said she would have deserved to have a good life because she was faithful to God in the past. When she saw God didn't offer to her anything good, she renounced faith in God and she cursed Him. How can I convince her to turn to God again? What is the reason God didn't give her anything good in her life? What to tell her?

I always think of the book of Job when I think of human suffering in life. I really don't understand why bad things happen to good people except for the fact that there is another force at work in this world besides God, his opposing force actively at work to turn God's people away from him, the ultimate f*you that he... God doesn't just give people stuff cause they want it. I want a million bucks but God isn't just going to give it to me. I'm going to have to work for it. She kind of reminds me of Job's wife. When all of those things were happening to Job, she couldn't believe that her husband still had faith in God and she told him to curse Him. But Job persevered. And in the end, he was completely restored and highly rewarded. But he really had to go through some things. That's why... More

Sounds like she is blessed in many ways. Like others have said, she has you. She also apparently has relatives that will loan her money. How many people have that? God took care of her, one way or another. You didn't say anything about her health, but if she has good health that is indeed a blessing. Like someone else... More

He gave her you, didn't he? She chooses to focus on the negative. Tell her to get over herself and go work in a homeless shelter where she will see people who really don't have anything.

If my mother said that to me, I would tell her just how much that remark hurts my feelings. How could my mother think that I am not anything good. God gave me to my mother and if she thinks she never got anything good in her life she is foolish and hurtful to her children for telling them that... More

She has you, isn't that something good? Suffering is an opportunity. Its not about what happens to you.... its about how you deal with it. People who have money, who have everything , often don't know that they need God. They value money and material things. People who have little, often learn how to have joy in... More
