What neighborhoods are good for students in boston?

Me and a friend are both going to move to Boston for school she is attending Newbury and soon after I hope to attend Berklee... We currently live in Miami, FL and work minimum wage jobs, her school is supplying us 500$ a month for rent, where should we start looking?

$500 per month is nothing. You'll end up way out in a 2 BR/4 person share with that. Look on Craigslist to get an idea of prices... More

Ok, I am only fifteen. However I know Harvard Square is a safe and cool place because I go there all the time. There are dorms and apartments and Harvard Square is filled with restaurants and shopping you will love boson! Go Sox!!!!!

What do you mean "good for students"? Where there are a lot of students? Or where rents are cheaper? What do you mean?

Honestly, $500 a month won't get you far at all. I live in a run-down OLD share house in Brighton with 4 other people and the rent is $600 per person, not including bills. I'm within walking distance to The 'T' (public transport) but only just (about 20 minutes walk... More
