Where is the best place to buy kitchen appliances?

My wife and I have been doing some shopping and we've been astonished at the prices of stainless steel appliances... We're hoping someone out there knows of a great discount store that sells appliances for a lot less than retail. Specifically, we're looking to purchase a cooktop, wall oven and microwave, and a dishwasher. We find the prices are all fixed between: Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc... so please don't post any regular stores like these. Thank you!

If budget is a huge concern (and when isn't it), stainless is expensive. You can usually knock off a good $100-$200 per item if you go with black or white. And white appliances are making a comeback with the designer's. And buy your appliances based on features and reliability rather than looks. Yeah, you want them... More

Scratch and dent showrooms. Really, these exist. Sale items being discontinued in the brand name stores. Be aware that the stainless steel finish is a fad that will fade. So consider white appliances. This will be timeless and give your kitchen a clean look. White will be much more affordable... More
