Can I sue a potential employer if they refuse to hire me because my significant other is already employed?

M girlfriend works at a casual restaurant place as a shift leader. I'm looking for a job, and I have been told that they will not hire me for any position simple because we are dating. Do I have grounds for a lawsuit?

Many businesses and corporations have a policy against having mates (married or dating) employed. There is too much risk for personal problems to interfere with their duties. It's frustrating but I doubt you would get very far with challenging their rules.

No you can't sue. Many companies have rules that people who date each other or spouses can't work together. There are many businesses that have a rule like that. It is perfectly legal. Tell me, exactly how do you think it is discriminatory? No you cannot sue them.

No. Many businesses avoid having one employee report to another when there is a personal relationship. Look somewhere else.
