how do i find an electrical apprentice a first job?
i have to find an apprentice a starter job to receive field work experience before applying to an actual field related job,(as they need construction related skills) what should i be looking for? i thought a day laborer or perhaps an electrical supply house worker, any better ideas? please don't say anything about labor unions

forget all this crap. ol' boy needs to get his feet wet in multi family or single family development. it;s pretty simple work. he can do rough in and string wire, put in plugs, etc, OR he can do finish punch out work, (ie hanging ceiling fans, fixtures, etc... More

I think day laborer would be good. He can still do some electrical related work. Here it is legal for unlicensed/enrolled guys to run low voltage, drill holes, dig trenches etc. All practical experience for the trade.

you start by going to every electrical company ussally small shops and ask if they need helpers then when you gain enough experance you can take your liscense test and iam going to say this any way after you have a couple years under your belt go to your local ibew and ask to take the test for apprenticeship
