OK How does this sound 1st job - sales person Worked effectively within a medium sized team to sell sim cards and vouchers to both existing and new customers. Used effective verbal communication skills with a friendly approach. Worked under pressure to meet deadlines and often would aspire to achieve more than what was set for me. Effective time use and commitment in gaining entrepreneur skills. Ambitious and aspiring, motivating team member who ensured to be an asset to the team. second job - sales person Part of a large sales team, effectively, advised and promoted home improvement products over the phone. Worked very closely with the manager in ensuring the success of the business overall. Used effective verbal communication skills when faced with difficult customers. Handled calls maturely and in a professional manner. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a member of family organization called “The Mughal Welfare Committee” which was set up by an extended family member. The organization’s original aims were for a family get together however now it has formed into a large successful insurance company. As its attending committee member it emancipates the burden of paying out funeral expenses. It is one of the most important committees I am involved in, as membership is only given to the extended family. I am an enthusiast for theme parks (rather embarrassingly for an 18 year old). I enjoy the thrill of sitting on exhilarating rides. I am normally the organizer of events when a couple of friends and I plan to go to theme parks, the most frequent theme parks we have visited are Drayton Manor, Alton Towers and Flamingo land. I took part in BBC 2’s Britain’s best speaker along with my friends and made it through the first round. It was merely a mockery of the British Asian experience. We all have strong opinions on our identities (as young Brits) and so it was a good idea to challenge the stereotypes. To dispute the gender convention of a female gaining the role of an editorial member with my sister, I have recently joined the school newsletter called “The purple pages”. As a theme park enthusiast and someone with an eye for sport I currently report “keeping healthy tips”, which also aligns with the Academy’s ethos. I work with a wide range on students ranging from year 7’s all the way to sixth form in meeting deadlines as well as researching. I also enjoy keeping fit and healthy and so during weekends I normally go to the local sports centre. It gives me the opportunity to associate with new people while playing my favourite sport - football. I am a member of the Dixon’s Allerton Academy’s football team, and have brought home various medals. What is your proudest accomplishment to date? My work experience has allowed myself to become more sociable and have extended my capabilities further. I am confident, reliable and have excellent language and people skills; moreover I have become more confident and believe I have the relevant ambitions to aspire to achieve many goals in life. Currently I am considering enrolling in the army, as a British Muslim I will be in the minority to join the force; however I strongly anticipate that my input will have an effective place in Afghani life. I am a team player and this opportunity will allow me to experience different cultures in the world as well as make a massive beneficial impact. I have been inspired by my great Grandfather who fought in World War 2 along side the British army. Have won an award for contributing to “reading matters” in my school. Have worked with a pupil on a one to one basis for a month. I have encouraged him to read effectively and through mentor feedback I am informed he is doing very well in his studies. I am currently taking driving lessons and hopefully will release the burdens of my family’s traveling expenses when visiting attractions and will also give me a little more independence. Learning to drive has always been a personal ambition and I am anticipating the future for when I can own a car.
