Ninety percent of authors need a spouse or a second job to make a living. Being an author is not always a well paying job.

Depends on how many you sell. All writers don't have the same fixed income you know.

It depends on your publisher, the books content, how much you sell and how much time you are willing to put into promoting it. There really isn't an average income.

Well it depends on how many copies of your book you sell. I heard around $20,000 but if it becomes very popular and you begin to create products from the book (including movie deals) you can make it up to 10,000s or even millions. So you dont get a 'yearly income'. I'd suggest not making this your career but doing it... More
