What is correct name for professional in Marketing who monitoring Demand in a market?

What is correct name for professional in Marketing who monitoring Demand in a market on particular products and must do all possible to increase it ? For example company introducing new product or wants to increase a demand for any current product, and I think it must be a person who responsible for demand increase, who controlls it? I would like to know correct name for this profession in Marketing. P.S. I am currently Marketing Management course student and this is what I am interested in to do in future. Depends what industry is but could be either market analyst (desk based type role doing the research) to product manager (sales type role to market the product/service) or any other old mkt manager used to say call yourself what you like, just get the job done!
