Why do so many people defend Rich people so much for no gain?

Maybe people should blame communism on big companies like Wal Mart since the rich executives that run them keep buying products from communist countries. __________________________________________________________________________________ In a previous question which you can look at in the link at the bottom I talk about the importance of a progressive tax. About half half the answers were sane, and the other half were the most asinine answers that I think I have ever seen. In defense of supposed "rich people" and "capitalism" one lady actually had the gall to say and I quote "Taxation is nothing more than theft, allowing government to decide who gets what". Apparently if someone is breaking in your house you shouldn't call the police because they are a "social institution" that uses people's taxes. I'd like to say a few things here, and set a few terms straight here and then have your opinion on why people defend the rich. First of all people act like a system should control their every decision. If something falls out of the lines of capitalism, socialism etc. etc. then it shouldn't be done. This is completely dumb, how about humanism and fairness. Second I am not saying capitalism doesn't have some advantages, but people act like socialism is the same as communism IT'S not. The United States has some limited socialistic institutions already including but not limited too, The Highway Department, NASA, Police, Food Stamps, And The Fire Department. This is also assuming that socialism now not communism, and social institutions are actually a bad thing. DENMARK and SWEDEN both of which seem to have happier and healthier people, are both waaayy more socialistic than America, and are still republics that emphasize individual liberties such as GUN OWNERSHIP i.e. you can own rifles especially in Sweden and they have way lower crime. They also have higher life expectancies than America. Denmark has the most EQUAL wealth distribution of any country in the world as well. Yeah...they don't have executives there getting paid hundreds of times more than the employees ohhh! booo! hoo!. For those of you who are going to say good; why don't you move there? No Thank! This is my country and my fellow Americans country. I'm not going to effortlessly give it up to these pigs and companies that outsource and cheat to make money, driving down the MIDDLE CLASS ever since the 1950s in which there were WAY MORE TAXES on the rich. Lastly I love the people that say that you need to get a job and WORK HARD. Anyone who knows anything about economics knows that the rich use the labor of OTHERS and the land to make money. All wealth is land and labor and the super wealthy use others work. That's an old American weasel statement that you just have to work hard. The harder you work at Wal Mart the more the stockholders make. It's called the Bourgeoisie the people that own systems of production. History is nothing but the activity of men in pursuit of their ends. Karl Marx Peace;_ylt=AvIK3BzhDPewrmGRI6Q228Tsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100421113240AAXoWMF Oh I just also want to say that the wealthy seem to deliberately make people believe they are good. That's what you have to do, you take the people you are fleecing and then turn it around like you are a good guy lol. Peace

I think very highly of those in America who work hard and are innovative. They provide this nation with wealth, NOT poverty.

Because they're all little kids who mistakenly think they'll be rich someday (the rest are older conservatives who are in it for social reasons - homophobia, racist, etc...). Sad thing is 95% of the cons on here would be lucky to make over 45k anytime in their life, especially considering they don't go to school. They... More

A perfect example would be the insurance companies. So many average Americans defend the well-documented criminality of these organizations. I will never understand it.

because we have this carrot hung before us: we can also be rich, so we should treat the rich like we want to be treated when we're rich.
