How to find local engineering jobs in california?

so I'm graduating with a mechanical engineering degree in May, and I would like to move to california. does anyone have any tips on how to look for local engineering job. I'm looking for small firms, which probably will not advertise job openings in or some other web services. Any advice on getting the job or moving over there is greatly appreciate it.
