David Cameron, do I pay my taxes for you to abdicate responsibility for running schools and hospitals to me?

I would probably be crap at running schools and hospitals. I think I already pay for someone competent to do it. If you ask me to do it, would I get a salary? And a tax cut?

If this means anything at all, it means *either* government simply walking away from its job, *or* introducing yet another level of administration. But if you are very, very rich, you will probably get a tax cut. Why do you think Lord Ashcroft is bankrolling the Tories?

No you just take the responsibility for getting it wrong when it inevitably does go wrong. He's admitted that governments cannot effect policy adequately so he doesn't see why his government should take the blame when the policies don't work out.

Given it's hard enough to persuade parents to show up for Parents Evenings - what chance is there of competent, knowledgable parents offering up all their spare time to run a school?

If im invited to join the government im coming to the next climate change meeting just to eat all the vol-au-vents. Big mistake. Bit ambiguous. Big society.

Maybe be you will be crap at running schools, but if you put your heart into what you are doing, then positive things will happen. One person can't do it all, but a strong leader attracts strong people, that could be the point of Dave.
