Criminal Justice for firefighter? Want at least a bachelor's degree..?

I am thinking about becoming a firefighter or police officer in the future. I am slightly leaning towards firefighter, but almost no schools in california offer that major. I also think a four year degree in fire science or technology is too narrow and wouldn't be helpful if you became disabled. I am thinking that majoring in Criminal Justice Administration would be a good choice because it will help if I apply to a police department or CHP, and also give me a leg up (even if it is only a small one) if I apply to become a firefighter because most firefightes don't have bachelor's degrees. What do you think? Would a different major help me become a firefighter and police officer at the same time? Any helpful comments about this general topic are welcome. Thanks :) tags: fire science firefighter police officer cop chp law university higher education public service bachelor degree
